Mitsubishi ASX has redesigned about six years after the launch again. Visually, especially the front, technically almost nothing changes. The price rises slightly.
Mainz - sometimes even help trifles. The Mitsubishi ASX as the facelift really makes a difference. But only from the front. Since the small SUV with the new front design looks much fresher and more modern than before. Boasting a marketing prose, the designers call the "Dynamic Shield".
Whatever. The darkened grille with black louvres and chrome trim is the 4.36-meters-Crossover quite well. In addition, the diamond logo was something plastic and Mitsubishi screwed a newly designed underbody protection at the front. Little effort, lots of action, you mean. Until we see the ASX from behind. not the ideas probably the designers went there, but only the money. With a base price of 19,490 euros, you can not overdo it (previously 18,990 euros).
But design is probably never been decisive in ASX customers. And there are also more functionality with the facelift. Navigation system and audio system have been modernized. Among other things, there is now a 6.1-inch touch screen monitor. A new menu graphics and a more comfortable Bluetooth pairing for mobile phones are further improvements.
Enough space for passengers and luggage
Nothing has changed in the good space for passengers and luggage. The loading compartment swallows 419 liters and can be up to 1.219 liters (backrest 60/40 split) on a flat surface extended. The sill but is almost eight centimeters quite high, inviting heavy objects difficult bit.
Nothing changes when engine range. The basic version is powered by a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 117 PS that transmits its power through a five-speed manual gearbox to the front wheels. In spite of handsome torque of 360 Nm, which is applied at 1,500 rpm, it lacks the quiet and smooth working engine during acceleration of a little pressure. The gentle and absolutely smoothly changing the steps converter automatic swallows here felt quite a bit of force. You might want to change gears using paddles on the steering wheel. A sports car but the ASX does not become.
At its market launch, there are diamonds
About 57,000 times the ASX was sold in Germany since the market launch in of 2010. With the new model year, two special models to help, so it will be a few more. The "Diamond Edition" will cost 21,990 euros and is reserved for the base gasoline. 18-inch alloy wheels, electrically folding exterior mirrors, fender flares, fog lamps and a silver-colored underfloor protection are included in the price.
Inside, there are piano lacquer trim, automatic climate control, a multifunction steering wheel and Bluetooth interfaces for audio and hands-free systems. According to Mitsubishi save buyers 1,400 euros compared to a similarly equipped standard model. In the "Diamond Edition +" for 23,490 Euros nor a roof railing in black, dark tinted windows and xenon headlights are added. Five-year warranty are Mitsubishi on all versions.
